DBKL low-cost flats in terrible and worsening condition
The residents of the DBKL’s low-cost flats are concerned with the terrible and deplorable conditions of their flats which is going from bad to worse. It seems that while there high rise flats have very nice looking views from the inside, it is terrible from within. At the Intan Baiduri People’s Housing Scheme in Kepong, there are some units with missing doors, windows, pipes and sinks. On top of that, some of the switchboxes have been tampered with and wires are cut off and thrown on the floor.
To make matters worse, vandalism and such are causing a lot more problems like rubbish and the floors are very dirty. Vomit, urine and stains are seen all over the place which is known to be the doings of vagrants and drug addicts around the area. The same situation is seen in other DBKL low-cost flats around the Klang Valley like that in Lembah Pantai, Puchong, Cheras, Wangsa Maju and other areas. This situation truly is a concern when the maintenance of the units are from the public.
It is not immediately known as to how such problems could be left to continue considering that problems like piping are causing much hardship for the residents there. DBKL is responsible to take care of the low-cost flats and hence this problem must be solved before it gets any worse than it already is.
