Yes, PLUS guys are full of ideas to reduce the highways congestion but most are only stop gap measures.
Why don’t the Authorities come up with more permanent solution to this repeated problem.
Some of the good solutions are namely as follows:
Improved public transport systems, including providing very low fare tickets for this festive period so that more people would choose not to drive their cars for the ” Balik
Kampong” exodus.
PLUS could encourage more car owners to fully load their seats available in their cars on the balik kampong trip by giving good incentive rates in toll payments. This will surely discourage car drivers travelling alone or in pair. I believe, at least 10% of vehicle on the highway is reduced by such measure.
